Special gift for special people

Dear Matru Mandir Parents,

We are very thankful to you for being wonderful Matru mandir parents. As a thank you gift we wish to bring something very special for you. Because we know you are doing a great service to humanity by bringing up a wonderful child.

We are aware that creating happy, confident, loving and caring child needs lot more than safe and secured environment. It needs an emotionally matured, aware and childlike parent who can think & operate like a child but guide & direct as an aware adult. And to be such a parent we require a lot of physical and emotional energy as well as open & forgiving nature.

While parents have great intention of being such a parent our day to day life makes thing quite challenging and stressful. And in the process of juggling all roles they end up being unhappy, agitated and angry parent. A little fine tuning in our attitude and some simple tools like Pranayam, Meditation etc. will bring miraculous change in your life.

Siddha Samadhi Yoga (SSY) is the training which will bring out that exploring child from within you while creating better clarity about healthy & joyous living. It will connect you with your self and with the world around you and bring effortlessness in everything you do. SSY brings out your true potential which will in turn help you bring out your child's true potential. SSY creates happy families leading happy and healthy lives.

For supporting you in your parenting we are offering the SSY Introduction on this Sunday - October 16th at Matru Mandir during the Rishi S'Cool hours (9-30 to 11-30 am).

And as our special gift to you we will offer this class in convenient once a week sessions spread over 13 weeks on Wednesday 6-30 to 8-30 pm OR Saturday ( 4 to 6 pm) OR Sunday 9-30 to 11-30 am and at a special discounted price. Our usual cost of SSY training is $200 which includes registration and cost of material but as a Matru Mandir parent you will pay only registration cost i.e. $50. The complete program will be spread over 13 weeks which will include 12 session held weekly once (Sunday morning) and 1 whole day for Initiation.

We will discuss logistics and other details on introduction day.

Me & My Bapu

Without ever meeting and seeing how can someone inspire you so much? I not just revere Gandhiji but he has always been a great inspiration for me.

Yesterday was Gandhi Jayanti and I was trying to remember when I first became aware of Gandhiji's existence. And it dawned upon me that my relationship with Bapu started at the age of 5 when I stepped in to my school Balmohan Vidyamandir. And since that day in my heart little Bal & little Mohan always lived and grew.

Our school was established by Shikshanmaharshi Dadasaheb Rege who himself was just 7th grade passed person but had a vision of creating human beings like Mohandas Gandhi & Bal Gangadhar Tilak by giving right values through education. In fact the name of the school was kept "Balmohan Vidyamandir" by taking Bal for Tilakji's name and Mohan from Gandhiji's name. Dada used to tell us how he sees Gandhiji and Tilakji in us; how he wants us to be truthful and fearless in accepting and owning up responsibility & consequences of our actions just like Bapu did. I must have heard some of Gandhiji's stories so many times that they are ingrained on my mind.
For 10 school years of my life; every day I saw Gandhiji's statue and read & heard his stories and listened to Dada's words about how I must become like him. And though I left the school after graduating my association with Gandhiji continued. Somewhere deep down in my heart I carried Dada's vision with me.
Today while talking to my little babies at "Matru Mandir" I remembered my power over their tender minds. And I felt very happy that I was nurtured by a great soul like Dada who installed Gandhiji in my heart at such a tender age. Now I know Gandhiji will walk along with my little ones and guide them just like he guided me.
My new journey with Bapu started today.

Gurupoornima
AUM SHRI GURUBHYO NAMA:
Guru Purnima, or the Full Moon of the Guru, is celebrated in the month of Ashadha (July-August). This day is significant for disciples who seek to get initiated by their Guru, students who desire to get the blessings of their teachers, and for everyone who wants to honor persons of great wisdom and learning. This is a rare time to solve unsolved problems.
The Greatness of Guru
The Guru is considered an embodiment of the archetypes Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. As per a Vedic saying, Guru's form is the basis of meditation, Guru's feet are the basis of worship, Guru's words are the basis of mantra (sacred sound), and Guru's grace is the basis of enlightenment.
The word 'Guru' means remover of darkness (In Sanskrit, “Gu” means darkness, “Ru” means remover). Thus, Guru Purnima is the day of eradicating ignorance and illuminating our lives with knowledge. On this day, Guru can inspire us to overcome our limitations and conjure a life of wonderful possibilities.

Time for Spiritual Renewal

The Full Moon represents enlightenment, which is the full flowering of consciousness. On the Vedic calendar, Guru Purnima is the Full Moon that falls near the summer solstice, the month of greatest light. This Full Moon is important because it is the time when all divine teachers shower blessings on the earth providing increased energy for our spiritual awakening.
On Guru Purnima, grace from these Masters is easily accessible to all those who think of them.
Also, there is a Guru element inherent in all of us. Accessing the energy of the vortexes visited by Siddha Gurus can help in the unfolding of that element within us, so that higher wisdom can effortlessly descend upon us.
For Guru Poornima 2011, Pujya Guruji has ordained a one-week Silence Sadhana Shibir in Katarkhadak from July 8 to July 15.
Pujya Guruji will himself be present at Katarkhadak during this Shibir including the day of July 15 which is the day of Guru Poornima 2011.

Too Many Things - Spoiling Our Children

When you spoil your children with material goods, where is that motivation coming from, your own inner child?

One of the greatest things about children is that they have the ability to entertain themselves for long periods of time with something as simple as a cardboard box, a container, or a set of measuring spoons. It makes you wonder why we feel the need to buy them so many toys that they won't even have time to play with them all before they grow out of them. Often, if we take the time to question our compulsion to constantly give our children new toys and clothes, and to spoil them with food that is not even good for them, we will find that we are trying to fill up the space to avoid our own difficult feelings and pain. If you feel yourself wanting to spoil your child with material possessions, take a moment and see if you can feel where your motivation is coming from.

We may be inundating our children with things they don't need out of our own desire to create a feeling of abundance that was lacking in our own childhood, or out of a need to feel liked by our children. Both of these motives tend to be unconscious, stemming from unresolved issues from our own upbringing or even our adult life. These unresolved feelings naturally come up when we find ourselves in the role of a parent, often as our child reaches the age we were when these traumas were most pronounced. Spoiling your children will not save you or make your pain disappear, only acknowledging and working on your emotional issues can do that. What our children really need us to provide for them is both a sense of safety and a sense of freedom and love of which there can never be too much. If we are able to do this well, material possessions need not take center stage.

We all want to provide our children with a good and happy life, but most of us know deep down that material possessions play a very small role. We confuse our children when we seek to make them happy through buying them things. When we do this, they take our cue that happiness comes in the form of toys and treats, rather than in the joy of being alive, surrounded by love, and free to explore the world.

Tree Plantation at Matru Mandir

Please join us on Saturday – January 8th for inaugurating pooja at our new Matru Mandir premise.

Time is 11am to 12 and lunch there after 12.

Address is “Peace Home” 18062 Norwood Park, Tustin, CA 92780.

This new year we will be planting trees at Matru Mandir. Your babies can join for a tree plantation along with the Matru Mandir babies.
        `
One of the important aspects of spiritual development for children is to connect with the nature. Nature teaches nurturing, caring and giving in abundance. It is very important for children to connect with the nature. By being friends of trees, animals & birds they see how natural it is to offer oneself to others.

Our new “Matru Mandir” has a lot of nature. Each child will plant a tree and then take care of it. By watering the tree and seeing it grow a special bond gets created between the child and the plant.

Please RSVP if you wish to participate in the plantation so we can keep a tree for your baby. This will be a very important experience for your baby.

You can also sponsor a plant in the name of your grown up children and participate in our program.

Love & blessings,

"Matru Mandir"
